I looked at the moderator log and this is what I notice:
  • refalm has a billion entries editing stuff - what is this refalm? Is it scripts updating posts or something?
I'm currently posting some interesting threads on Twitter, to try and gain more traffic.

Those edited posts are usually old posts that generate traffic, but are broken due to dead links, or ridiculous spelling errors. I want to leave a good impression for visitors.
Ironically my thread about improving the forum by reducing censors was censored by some COMPLETE FUCKING FAGGOT, who locked the thread. While using these moderator powers, he admits that he doesn't really even use the forum.
This censorship claim is bullshit, the posts by you that I delete are usually ones that involve personal attacks, which you yourself don't like. It's kind of hypocritical to claim that people should stop making stuff so personal around this forum, while you are the one that does it more frequently than anyone else here.

The claim that you are unable to contact me is bullshit too, since I'm in your MSN, AIM, Facebook and Gmail list. I apologize for not living in your timezone, but I'm beginning to like this country, so I won't be moving to Indonesia or Australia any time soon.

I do not care about the posts YOU delete Refalm, this is your property. I started a discussion about too many moderators and ironically some clown deleted it who rarely even posts. I just don't think every member should be a moderator - it is retarded.

Thread unbinned for now.

Big deal, he called the developers faggots. In my view there  was no need for his post to be deleted, even if someone did take offence.

I don't think there's any censorship agenda but there are definitely too many moderators and I hope that most people won't leave because they've had their moderator status removed.

Yes, this is Refalm's forum but that also means who he has as moderator is also his decision.

EDIT:
What happened to the other thread "Certainly bye" I can't find it. It seemed to disappear after moving this to the lounge, sorry if it's my fault.

my work firewall is currently stopping me reading page one of this thread, but from the gist of page two i think it's fair to say this:

it's a sad state of affairs when doubts raised about censorship are censored. Whoever did it should be ashamed of themselves and whoever tries to defend them should be ashamed too.

What there's censorship at work or do you mean at the MES?

Yes, you're right that deleting Kintaro's remark is censorship. I was doubting that there's a general policy of censorship here but when I now I think about it, I'm not too sure. If someone had made the same remark about the MS Office developers, would it have been dealt with in the same manner? I doubt it. Whilst I accept this is an anti-MS forum, it's pointless if criticism of non-MS products and particularly FOSS is not allowed. Moderators should be as unbiased as possible when carrying out their duties.

yeah, there's some censorship at my work, but that's because they try and filter out all the sites nobody needs in order to do their job, fair enough, as it's a private network.

But yeah, what i meant was that there is too much censorship on the MES, with no rhyme or reason to it, especially of kintaro. That's my opinion anyway.

Lol, I would've reported kintaros post if his remark referred to MS Office developers, for sure. It is the language used that I found disgusting, that is all.

I am not disgusted for the developers sake, but simply because Kintaro felt the need to use that language, in a simple one-line post about patches.

So, I take it we're going to allow all types of excessive language on here then? (even when a post seems to serve little other purpose)

If someone will clarify I won't report such a post again.

Btw Ref, you can take my moderatorship off me - I don't even use it. But I think Kintaro is utterly wrong about the effects moderatorship is having on people, and the effects that losing that will have.

Additionally, I don't think he'll ever leave, for the same reason he gives that our moderators won't leave if their status is removed.

Also, if you do remove moderators, please leave us as VIPs for the friends of mes forum :)

look, this is all bullshit, this thread's full of opinions and people deliberately (or worse unintentionally!) misunderstanding each other, why don't you all just grow up and get over yourselves? As if anybody even cares except the six or so people who regularly post on this board.

Yes, i'm against offensive language (ie: derogatory, sexist, bigoted etc) but for fuck's sake, two pages of discussion about calling developers faggots?

If it was reported, it's because the person reporting it was offended, so yeah, there's a case in that ONE instance, imho, but in this case it was a moderator reporting it because he thought it might have offended somebody else (somebody who didn't report it). As i said, grow up. Take action when somebody really is offended and not before, i say. There are a LOT worse things you could be putting your energy into than complaining about swear words.

Hopefully none of that was offensive to any of you...

I don't think I mentioned 'offense' in any of my deliberations explaining why I reported that post.

imo, such posts should be discouraged by sending kintaro a warning. I don't like his language, and it is probably damaging for the community for a newcomer to notice such immaturity.

What do you not like about his language?

Do you find the word faggot particularly offensive?

It's clearly excessive, and it doesn't help his point (e.g. idiot does though). If you use one line to make a point, it can do without the excessive language. I don't like to read such trash - that isn't why I come here. If his post was a paragraph in size and he used the same language at some point, I wouldn't have taken issue, but when I read a post that reads like nothing but disgust, I have to see it for what it is.

Makes me glad now that I made a conscience decision to stop cursing, and using disgusting language in everyday sentences (I still say words such as faggot plenty though!). But I did that when I was about 12 (because I was terrible for it, btw yes a few years later I started cursing again, but for a purpose! :) ).

I have always found Kintaro's use of the word 'faggot' offensive.

I also think it's kinda funny that while everyone so far agrees that this forums needs less moderators, nobody is volunteering to step down.

I volunteered to step down just a few posts up.

Also, I didn't agree that the forum needs fewer moderators.

You will find me at www.linsux.org - a forum that isn't full of easily offended faggots.

In any case, nobody is actually effected by my use of the word faggot. Simply, you people just want something to bitch about like swearing because my logic is usually superior. You have proven that you are all mostly incapable of reason in any form. Thus there is no point discussing anything with any of you - you censor anything that contradicts your opinions. Deleting that post was a parallel to a police officer who doesn't like black people deciding to evade the constitution by charging him with jaywalking.

Keep following your religion of freetardism. Keep believing that everything good must not come at any cost. Keep believing that art doesn't emanate from the mind, but from bittorrent. It will be your loss. The most evil compulsion among humans on this planet is greed for the unearned. That is what this forum really stands for, greed for the unearned. Refalm repudiates his libertarian/anarchist principles by allowing it to exist. I repudiate my own principles by being here, and cannot let that remain.
