It's "C:\Recycled" or "/mnt/windows/Recycled/" in Mandrake.

the concept and the design for the Recycle Bin is lifted straight from the classic Mac OS's Trash.

Mac OS's Trash has a hidden folder on the hard drive called... "Trash". It's not just hidden, it's one of a few folders that is fully inaccessable using the Finder.

MS tried to do this, but you can't fully hide any file in Windows, because too many dorks care about hidden folders and files. Shit that they shouldn't ever mess with.

But yeah, where did you think it was at?
Go the fuck ~

just wondered, thought it was strange that microsoft wouldn't put recyle bins in the same area as the user area, and its stuff like that that makes it oh so much easier for spywarr, etc to take a hold

I remember when I was on XP it didn't just have C:\recycler, it had X:\recycler, X being whatever windows-recognized partitions you had. That was pretty annoying, having one for each "drive." I'm not sure if it was supposed to do that or what, though.

I still haven't figured out why it's called the Recycle Bin. What the hell gets recycled in there, anyway?

They wanted "trans can" or "trash bin" first, but I beleive Mac OS or NewDeal Office (great DOS-based GUI, kinda like what Microsoft tried with Windows 95, but than stable and reliable) already took it.
