I do agree quite strongly with you. Privacy is the main consern
.But we are dealing with the psycology of a person. I can see them buying new computers with 'LongHoe' on it. They, will probably realize that they can't do all the stuff they cam now with their previous version of winblowz, prompting them to do two things.
A.) Keep on returning it to the maufacturer(repair shop) etc... Only to realize that it JUST won't work!
or
B.) digress to a previous version of WinBlowz./stick to the winblowz you already have.
I hear already that people just don't want to upgrade anymore. I mean, for them, if 98SE plays all the latest games, then why get winXP. If win2kpro is stable enough for the office inviroment then why go to 2k3???.....
Of course because of this no real problems will ever be solved. Virii/worms will still plunder th inet and people will continue to call their 'techs.'
A sad world. However Linux. is makeing leaps and bounds and the fact is when I switched it made my life better and easier with less complications!
