Phoenix 0.5 is out. I know this has been long awaited by peeps here (like calum)

Release Notes

I barely use it (phoenix) but I may download it to see what the new version is like.
Contains scenes of mild peril.

Yummy! Unfortunately, I'll have to wait till I go to work tomorrow (DSL   :D   ) Me has no patience anymore for dialup after a taste of broadband.

I use Phoenix because i dont use Mozilla Mail (now Ximian Evolution), or Mozilla Chat (now xchat), or even composer (now vim).

Actually on a note for those not wanting to learn vim... I was in the same position, but the keys are in a logical order, and they will suprise you in how easy they are to learn. VIM RULES!!!
Learning it was the best thing i did.

I will be downloading .5 tonight...

(At this rate next year we will have 1.0!)

at the moment i have no computer at home, so i use phoenix at work and haven't tried the linux version of 0.5 yet. I must say that i haven't noticed any changes for the better in 0,5 compared with 0.4 and i have noticed a few irritating changes for the worst. most notably 0.5 does not seem to support the prefbar.

Calum, your best to get a Mac for your new computer, because if you get a brand-new pc you will never be able to upgrade it again unless you use TCPA and Pallidium.

Im just going to buy lots of oldish machines and put them in a Beowulf cluster.

You could get a decent G3 for that price, im hate PC's, at least its okay thanks to Linus and Stallman. It is still a peice of shit, but it appears to be half good with Linux instead of the usual peice of shit it is when i was using Windows.

AVOID NON-FREE (as in freedom) SOFTWARE AT ALL COSTS. IT IS ANTI-SOCIAL. FUCK MICROSOFT, SUN, APPLE, AND ALL THE OTHERS.

THE PENGUIN WILL KILL YOU ALL!
