what's the best software for watching DVD's with under Linux? I'm using Redhat 8.0. I once tried to install Xine but totally f**ked it up.

Well the easiest way to watch encrypted DVD's in linux is with Ogle, which by the way has DVD menu support. Other than this, try mplayer or xine.

I'd go with Ogle too. Mplayer and xine are also good solutions.
