optical Microsoft mouse

well, i'd never choose this (...) mouse but i can tell you that it sucks! when you're playing half-life it corrects itselves! so if you make a quick turn it won't do shit...

Is there a solution for this problem?! i can't find settings for it. or is it ready for throwing it out of the window?! (it already was just because there was microsoft written on it)

the problem is, the mouse is not mine... but my mother's.
But when I play a Lan game, i just put my friends in front of the M$ computer with the stinkin mouse. And I will kick their asses with my own computer

Hell yeah, Microsoft sells hardware that sucks hard. Maybe you can adjust your settings to shud down the game unfriendly "feature" of the crappy mouse, but I have little hope. You can always buy a cheap Mac mouse (

Wet_chicken is a friend of mine, he lives about a mile from my house and i often go networkin' with him, so i have used his freakin' mouse too.

It helps if you adjust the mouse sensitivity in the Control Panel, it won't correct itself then.

I had exactly the same when we went quakin', it was virtually impossible to make a really fast rocket jump !

Calum, last time i was quakin' i got my ass kicked by a dude with a logitech optical mouse.
Aren't their REAL (like - good) optical mouses ?
'cuz I like the idea of no trackball. I always get dust in my mouse, and then my aim goes diddly squat.

Mice are too small to satisfyingly crush when thrown out of a window. I suggest smashing them with a hammer. After all, I did that to an ancient ADB mouse awhile back.

if you can find a really old mouse it will be more reliable.  the one i have was manufactured in about 1997-8, and my backup is from the 386 days.  they see well enough (update rate) and if you take em apart and clean em every so often they are... just reliable.  the last mouse i bought lasted 4 months, so i went back to basics.

as for a keyboard, i must admit i favor the logitech cordless.

i would love to have on of those old ibm ultra clicky keyboards, although the one keyboard i have from AT&T is pretty sweet, it may just be me, or i got a special little kick when i used it on a FreeBSD system
