PS2 Linux VS X-Box Linux
« on: 25 November 2002, 23:34 »
What would you people say?

I'm not sure... PS2 has better and more games and stuff, but is more expensive but there's lesser chance of a fuck up than with a X-Cox.

But of-course, X-Cox is cheaper and i666, oops ix86. Which that WineX has a possibility of being able to run as long as people make a good OpenGL driver for the X-Cox(I've heard that stuff is being worked on)

Microshit is really losing profit by not releasing a WinXP kit for X-Box for $500 or something. Idiots would buy it. 700$ for a nice WinXP comp which can run both pc + x-box games. I wouldn't but I know people who would(and should be hanged)
Free it, goddamnit!

I like it ... just like I liked zombie's kitten sig pic ... histerical.

But still, that pic o'yours is rather large, so that means a lot of down-scrolling everytime we read your  input. And most important, it takes precious d/l time, and while executing the loop to load our Forum pages correctly, the browser is usually 'busy' for a while and blocks other applications, that is, if you're stuck with windoze, like me ...
Just imagine that on the like - 50 posts on every page only 20% is yours - that would be a lot of huge pics to load ...

Are you some kind of limp bizkit fan, Interscope?
Just asking because of your name, I don't have any knowledge wether Interscope has any other labels than the LB ...

Can I still say welcome after 57 posts, because I ain't around here so much as I'd like to be ...

HAPPY NOW, DOMME BELG???????

=)

Now tell me what you think or else i will bite your head off.

f00bar>>> No, I hate Limp Bizkit, to be honest, I like Slayer, Sepultura, Nirvana, Thy Serpent, Motorhead, Jimi Hendrix, and some others. I hardly like any bands signed to Interscope, I just like the name, k?

But this isn't about some stupid pic loading times, size or music tastes.

Here is the deal. The linux developed for The PS2 was actually made by Sony itself for the PS2 hobbyists, while Microsoft did everything in their power to prevent Linux, or any other OS from running on their hardware. You can buy the linux PS2 kit from Sony for $199 and it includes, linux, a hard drive, a network card, a keyboard, a mouse, and a monitor cable adaptor.

http://www.us.playstation.com/purchase/hardware/

Linux on the xbox is a little different. It is not supported by Microsoft. It has a few different versions such as Mandrake and Debian, and in order to run it you must buy an xbox mod chip a keyboard and a mouse seperately. For info check out

http://xbox-linux.sourceforge.net/

Since the xbox supports mainstream distros, I might have preferred it, however Microsoft could put out a thing that refuses any of the known mod chips, which means that the xbox you buy might not support linux.  Id stick with ps2 linux, since I dont(and wont ever) own an xbox.
