True, but you don't have to use a login screen (unless you have more /home/x dir's).
In Slack, I boot directly in my personal user account.

i do startx.

I see strange view during X startup for about 2 seconds. Lets say you divide your screen in 2 equal parts. Top part, and bottom part.  And you, during those 2 seconds, see black in top part, and in bottom part you see... half of screenshot, which was made before last session logout. yes, half of screenshot.  

So imagine, you login as root, launch X interface, and watch porn. And you logout of system, and shutdown PC. Next day some kind of user will turn up comp, login in HIS account, and he will see view of gmplayer, playing porn movie, (in bottom part of screen) for 2 seconds, after that X interface will be ready and that user will do stuff in his account.  

Thats damn hole, lack of privacy, to avoid serious shit you have to close all windows before logout, cuz some kind of user can see *important document* or email letter, or smth.. well i hope you understood this, and probably even encountered this problem themselves


That's all cause you didn't configure it like a multi-user system.
Add an other user for every person and your privacy problem will be solved.   ;)  

PS: Don't confuse 'root' with a second user...
If you login as a second /home/user, X will only restart where this second user stoped (and show his own porn images   ;)  )

It does, I've seen it.  Unless you actually do a hard reboot, the video ram is not purged on some cards.

It can. (mostly when you forgot to close an app)
But it can't show this to other /home/users (and use  a login manager).

I don't see how that's even possible.

EDIT:Now I do.     :rolleyes:    
He doesn't use a login manager, so if he starts X,
it will return it where he stoped (only if he forgot to close an app) .
This can't happen if X first starts a login manager (I'm not sure if this is true for xdm and kdm).

Ok btw i just confused you all a bit, but yeah, probably after shutdown and login as other user, this stuff dont appears. But for same user, after shutdown it happens. My video is integrated Savage4 lol, so i dont know much about these things, but it is using system RAM as video RAM, and after reboot or even shutdown it should be cleaned..

If you looking for a new videocard, get a GeForce! It has very good Linux drivers.

Yeah thanks for advice, but my motherboard is shitty , it even dont has AGP port.. this is old comp. But for my second comp who is powerfull and has windoze installed (sometimes i play games in it) I allready have Geforce, but btw I think today nVidia is making crap against Radeon. Radeon's IQ is very good + speed and so on... BTW i know its problematic to configure Radeon for linux
