Programs not supporting other OS's

Its all very well everyone saying that other operating systems are better but what about support for those operating systems?
I got Radhat Linux 7.2 to see what it was like. None of my programs work in linux (even when using WINE) and the companies who made the programs don't seem interested in the OS what so ever. On top of this I have hardware (i.e. the Logitech Internet Navigator Keyboard) which requires special software to use the extra features on the hardware but the software will not run in my Linux.
I do want to switch over to my Redhat Linux 7.2 but with those problems I don't think I can even if I wanted to.
Why aren't any software companies interested in Linux?

lincensing.

if for example, compaq started selling linux boxes microsoft would pull their lincense to sell wondows boxes.

win4lin ( http://www.netraverse.com/products/win4lin30/index.php ) can run windows programs on linux. I think it cost $90. There are other programs that can run windows software on linux. I can point you to some reviews if you want.
