SCO's claim debunked by Novell

The shocking news is that Novell did not sell the Unix intellectual property to SCO. Instead, they sold SCO a license to develop, sell, and sub-license Unix. The title to Unix copyrights and patents remains with Novell. To back up this assertion, Novell refers to public records at the Library of Congress Copyright Office and the U.S. Patent Office.

SCO's claim debunked by Novell

This is a pretty old article.

Right now the copyrights are registered by both SCO and Novell and SCO is suing Novell to settle the dispute.

The problem is a very badly written and ambiguous amendment to the original agreement.  Each side claims it says somthing different.

I think Novell is in the right here, but it's going to be up to a Judge to interpret the amendment, so there is a possibility it could go either way.
