Please everyone sign this petition even if you arent a mac user.  Try and save apple from turning into a microsoft!!!  I think this os 10 update nonsense is a travisty, i sure as hell aint paying $130 for this bullshit.  I dont expect it for free but come on $130!!!  I cant even begin to imagine how mad i would be if i had just gone out and bought os 10.1 and now this crap.  I bought a mac to get away from this kind of SHIT, upgrades every other day, taking about all these new "features" that should have been in the first one!  Come on apple show some class...

Sorry to rant, [i had to get it out] I like apple but this is terrible..

I don't know about .Mac .

But I think the OSX upgrade is worth it, it's hardly a windows style upgrade. Lot's pf worthwhile goodies are included and your avarage windows upgrade is usualy twice as much.

Besies, if you wait a month the price will drop.

Damn, I just looked at the signatures and there are a lot of Mac users ticked off about this one. 9837, to be exact.

BTW.. Im ordering Jaguare now, the upgrade is only 69 bucks for those that are running 10.1 or 10.0 so it's worth it IMHO.

Hehe... oops. It's a student discount thing, I imagine it's going to come installed on new Mac's, that is for free.

So if you are a student, it's only 69 just call up apple to order.

What I find funny is that (a) this is the #1 most active petition on petitiononline.com (as of Friday afternoon, July 19), and that (b) there's a counter-petition (that basically says "stop whining" located here that's almost as popular.

In any event, I signed on against the .mac fees.  I won't be paying; I don't have any great need for the services myself, and I already have 37,693 e-mail addresses as it is.

I didn't see anything in this petition about the $129 fee for OS X 10.2, though . . . where'd you get that from?  (I get 10.2 and 10.2 Server free anyway, being a member of the Apple Consultant's Network.      )
