http://uptimes.wonko.comThis has been a hard decision to make, but I think it's necessary. On September 1st (that's next Monday), the Uptimes Project will go away. I'm moving into a new house soon, and I'd rather not deal with the ISP and bandwidth hassles this site causes. In addition, I haven't had the time or the desire lately to work on the site, so things have stagnated somewhat. It's been fun, but I need to move on.
If someone else is willing to devote the time and money necessary to take over the project, I will happily transfer the source code and database. The website currently serves about 4.1 million hits per month, but the bandwidth usage is relatively small at about 2 GB a month. Even so, this is a lot of packets for a DSL line to handle, and I can't count the number of times ISPs have mistakenly told me I was on the receiving end of a DDOS attack. If this doesn't deter you, email me.
In the meantime, there's another, very similar Uptimes Project at Uptimes.nu which is compatible with this project's protocols. You'll need to register for an account there and then update your clients to point at that server, but the switch shouldn't be too much work.
