Just another run of the mill newbie    

I just turned from the dark side   ... and bought myself a sexy little G4 imac a couple of months back. Glad to have switched over to OSX, and all things Mac.

Microsoft drives me crazy. It's scary how much it can monitor your life!

Can someone please point me in the right direction? Where would I ask questions about retrieving emails and history on my old PC? It's still a decent little computer. I would like to browse through my old stuff for the shits and giggles and then delete it before giving the computer to my little sister. I don't really need her to know each and every email that I have sent, and every site I've been to over the past few years   .

I have looked through 'Really Hidden Files' by r1ddler. But the information there doesnt seem to work for me? I used to use Windows XP. Maybe it wont work for that OS?

Nice to find a forum full of Mac people    Look forward to getting to know you guys. Cheers.

We're not all Mac people. We're also Linux people. And some of us are still put up with using Windows (and hate ourselves for it!).

As for the old PC, make sure before giving it to your sister to completely wipe out the OS and reinstall either it or another one.

Crongratulations for your switch, sMACk! A smart decision, and the Mac was an excellent choice. I'm hoping to make the switch myself this summer, if I work hard enough.

Stick a Linux distribution on there and see if it can find the stuff on the drive (provided you get one with NTFS support   ;)   ).

Well when I did it, I had Win2k.  If you can't find them in XP, do as I said above and see if Linux can find them.

Just reinstall Windows. That will clear everything  ;)
