Went back to Windows becuase nVidia's nForce drivers for Linux are fucking shit.

Between compiz (same window and compositing manager as Xgl) and Novell's "Computer" gnome-panel applet, I'm fecking loving this setup. The "computer" thing is so bloody handy...

(twas piss easy to set this stuff up, surprisingly. All thanks to that kick-ass community)

[offtopic]compiz was renamed to beryl, which I'm using only 'cause compiling metacity 2.16 with --enable-compositor (which has most of the actually useful effects, in particular real background transparency for gnome-terminal) I just can't be arsed to do in Ubuntu.

It looks like performance and stability in compiz has only gotten worse since I last tried it, humm..

btw, nvidia ppl, nvidia released a beta driver which supports all that's needed for compiz and aiglx.. check out http://www.sabayonlinux.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1410[/offtopic]
