Can anyone tell me how to recover pics that have been deleted?

Tipically with some sort of unerase software. What system are you running? Be more speciffic about the problem you are having.

Just by looking at his name I'm going to take a wild guess and say he is running Mandrake(Of course I don't know this for a fact though ;P) .

depends how you deleted them too...

I haven't tried this method (which doesn't require any special software) so i don't know if there are any quirks to watch out for.

as for software, here's a program (that i also haven't used) that undeletes provided your hard drive is 2nd extended formatted.

Get the "hexedit" package, and find them manually

hexedit /dev/hda1 (is it that easy in winders?)

Yes, there's a program called WinHex that allows you to do just that.

Insert backup tape from day you want to recover and then:

# tar -xvf /dev/tape path/to/pictures
