Didn't the US support Iraq only because they didn't like the new radical Muslim government replacing the US-friendly leader in Iran? I suppose that's somewhat of an excuse.

OR MAYBE PEOPLE SHOULD STOP CLAIMING I WAS MOST TOTALLY PRO-WAR! Geeze! If I recall, I almost never participated in all those crazy debates!

It merely makes me sad looking at Saddam. It looks like all he needed was a little love, and possibly a teddy bear!

Well that's not really an "excuse", it's more of a "reason".

the CIA DID put the bath party in power, whether you believe that they did not is that of a personal opinion, not fact!

Yes, other countries where using chemical weapons, but make no mistake, the U.S. was the biggest supplier and user of those weapns.

But eather way!  What america is doing is wrong!  and thats the whole point here!

You can't blame other people and/or other countries for such obvious mistakes and you can't deny it eather.  Just doing such and you might as well say that hitler was in the right.

But I'm sure you were hinting it. Why would I be feeling guilty if I didn't support a war? Anyway, that really wasn't the topic of my post. Saddam looks like a pretty sad, beat-up guy. I kinda feel sorry for him.

Either you misinterpreted what I said, or I should rephrase my sentence. I wasn't thinking about you in particular; I didn't even know your political stance. I just thought that guilt could have been a reason as well as pity.

But yeah, I agree. He would need a psychiatrist.
