why do i hate microsoft?

instead of actually spending the time & effort to make solid software, they produce the buggiest, crappiest piles of shit and then charge a hell of a lot of money for it. Windows 2000 is the only microsoft os i will use, but that is even pushing it. Office i do not mind so much, but it seems bulky.  They have a lot of money, you would think they could spend a little more and actually build quality software.
of course, i cant stomach their business practices, so added to their shitty software, there is no reason to use them.
product activation, DRM, palladium. very bad. the fact that they ignore standards, and write their own is bad. internet explorer tied into the os is fucking stupid.
and companies like autodesk only writing their software for windows pisses me off to no end.

i didnt spend a hell of a lot of money on osX. it was $129, and was definetely money well spent. my mac was expensive, but not much more than my pc.

You can't compare the money spent on OS X with the money spent on Windows. OS X costs less than Windows and technically is ages ahead than windows. As for my iBook, it was somewhat more expensive than any other x86 laptop, but it's definitely worth its money.
