tripod.co.uk are free, and give you all that stuff, but their server is sometimes slow.
any other better ones please post here as i am actively trying to find better than tripod.co.uk so i can get faster loading times for www.polytheismforum.cjb.net

Thats very odd/interesting. My site is currently at http://tripod.com which is the american version which is also hosted with lycos. but there service is crap. 20mb, no php or mysql. only a cgi-bin which is good for some but not all, ie: me. If noone posts any better ones tripod.co.uk is the go.

PS

On the .co.uk site it says PHP4U is hosted, is PHP4U PHP4 or a slimmed down retard version of php?

EDIT: Fixed some spelling mistakes.

Yes, the spanish tripod (tripod.lycos.es) offer PHP and MySQL, though I don't know about the italian one...

Here's a little list of hosts I know:

http://www.l33t.ca
Seems good.
> PROS: SSI, PHP, Perl, Pyton and MySQL, and "unlimited" webspace.
> DRAWBACKS: 100mb bandwith limit and no sendmail.

http://www.xug.net
The offer PHP5 (?????) and MySQL, but browsing their site was really slooooow, so I think they aren't worth it (or maybe that was justa a bad day...)

http://www.dk3.com
50mb, SSI, PHP, Perl and MySQL. They don't allow running message boards.
Unfortunately, it apears that they don't accept new members (I tried few times, but it allways says a "subscriptions closed, come next week")

http://free.prohosting.com (or was it .net?)
50mb, SSI and Perl.
Yes, I know, no PHP, but they offer a decent service anyway.

http://www.iespana.es (spanish)
50mb and PHP. And a weird useless database...
(I think that in the french version of their service they explain which database they use, but I don't read french :/ )

http://tripod.lycos.es
http://www.tripod.co.uk
http://www.lycos.fr
http://www.multimania.com
Diferent country-specific reincarnations of Tripod. Only sure about the spanish (50mb+php+mysql), but I think all of them give you PHP+MySQL (I've seen phpNuke running on lycos.fr and multimania)

http://www.hosted4free.dk
http://www.host.sk
As before, some people I know have phpNuke or phpBB running there, but I only speak english and spanish, so can't give any better info.

Is that enough?    :D

I'll gladly host your board. Only thing is that I can't give you an FTP account; as far as I know, I only get one (I'll look into getting another one for you if possible).

www.freeshell.org has a one-time hosting fee of $35... 300 megs of space (divided between home, email, web), php, cgi, etc.. I think you can manage that. For another $30 a year you get access to MySQL, and another +100 megs to email, web, home EACH. That's quite a lot of space (if you need it, I guess). No ads, nada zip ziltch.

-OR-

For $10 a month, www.phpwebhosting.com has a nice offer too. 125 megs of space (more if you need it, apparently), multiple MySQL databases, blah blah blah... ad-free and fast.

Really, it isn't -that- expensive, if you look. I honestly think you could afford $10 a month (or $36 once and $30 a year). Or, if you're a sneaky bastard like me, ask for some $$$ when the next b-day comes up.

I despise ads, so maybe that's why I'm willing to pay/support the little guy.

I'm pretty sure www.amzweb.com has mysql and php abilities.  It takes 50 posts in their message forum, however to get those privliges

i will consider phpwebhosting.com as it sounds good, however my ethic is that unless i am making money (which i currently am not, since my sites are basically for informational and community purposes) then i shouldn't spend any money.
As soon as i can think of a way to make my sites bring in $10 per month, then i will go with it! still, it sounds tempting, so you never know...
