I am getting this feeling that (with linux) I have absolutely no luck
. I have _never_ gotten Linux to work properly ever for longer than a day and usually the first boot up after the setup is a failure with some message like cannot mount /whatever/hdawhatever
Whenever I get it to work I either have to remove it because I *have* to install windows which refuses to work in anything but the first partition, or the NVIDIA drivers completely screw up leaving my computer in text mode hell.
Oh yes the day I posted about getting a mac, I installed linux fine and then followed the procedure to install the NVIDIA drivers. I restarted my computer (correctly) only to find the 3 words of HELL "Missing Operating System".
Fdisk /mbr did nothing to help me return to windows and neither did doing a repair on windows (which has mysteriously located itself on the "E:" drive for some strange reason my C: and E: drives are swapped around).
Good thing i'm getting a mac...
