I have been currently reading the book PHP4 in 24 hours. Its grat the person who wrote it recommends learning Linux and apache and all the screenshots in the book are Netscape/Linux/PPC!

Anyway where can I get some Webhosting with PHP?

You can try http://www.php50.com

50 MB and only one small banner. I opened up an account there some time ago, but I've been slacking off on the PHP.

tripod offer free hosting with php and mysql, i think it's 25Mb or something, that's what i am using for my forums right now, and it is entirely free, and they supposedly display ads on your actual page. I have found however that if your pages are dynamically created using php that the tripod ads do not actually come up, so in effect i now have ad free hosting for my forums at no cost.

tripod offers 20MB and they actually put two ads on your page.... only one is for tripod. They put one voersized popup and either another popup or a banner in every frame, this is why i said tripod to go fuck themselves and got my own webserver.
but wait! you can upgrade to tripod plus for only $15US a month and get another 5MB!!.

They used to give 50MB and if you signed up over two years ago, just until a month ago you would have still had 50MB. They kicked me out of angelfire because i refused to take out 30MB of stuff.

well, go and look at my forum! no ads! i never did anything special for it to go like that, their ads just don't work with php, which is great since they provide php4 for you to use, effectively short circuiting their own ad scheme!
