IP JUSTICE (FTAA) Here to take away more freedoms

Here we go again. Another scheme to introduce American style IP laws into the rest of the known world. If this is passed, by 2005, then in 38 countries non-commercial file shares could be sent to prison. Great more people in prison, just what we need.

quote:
"The FTAA Treaty's IP chapter reads like a 'wish list' for RIAA, MPAA and Microsoft lobbyists".

#535.

It's shit like this that causes me to think this is why there is no respect for the copyright system. These corporations like to swing the balance in their favor constantly just to undermine the way the system is supposed to work. Life+70 years is too damn long. That is more or less a perpetual copyright. Well, copyright is a pendulum. It swings both ways. Just like them swinging it towards them, it swings back towards us in the form of "illegal" P2P sharing. What they're doing is illegal. I think this is just the way of the people telling the system to fuck off since it's broken.

/Half-mindless rant

EDIT:
And in the spirit of posting people's numbers who piss you off, here's a few numbers to call to sound off. Have fun.
