I've been reading the zine, pretty interesting. I have just taken notice to how fucking much I wiggle these little fuckers on my hands around to type shit out. I might switch to DVORAK! Problem is mutilating my laptop to suit, because of special Fn keys and such I might just have to make a new damn set of keys or something, like covers for them. Any Innovative Ideas?

There should be special Dvorak versions for laptops and British keyboards.

OK, folks, how far have you all progressed? I'm typing DVORAK right now. Still a little slow, but I can already feel the difference.
If y'all want to learn DV., try dvorak7min (I found it in synaptic). It' really sth: I'm like halfway through and look at me go!

I'm trying it without re-aranging the letters this time. But it's still inconvinient that there isn't a Brittish Dvorak lay-out available (no, it's not about the pound sign, it's about #, " and @ different from US-International keyboards).

I'd say get used to it. And your not supposed to look at the keyboard anyway - a thing dvorak7min taught me in two days.

I was gonna start a now topic on dvorak, but since this is already here I'll just add on.

First, QWERTY was developed mostly to promote the brand name TYPE WRITER ... note that this can all be typed using the top row QWERTYUIOP ... how interesting. More here.

There are also many tests that show dvorak is significantly more comfortable to use, since all common keys are on the home row, but not necessarily faster, or popular ... much like M$ in some remote way. You know everyone uses it cuz they don't know any better.

I use dvorak ... I actually switched soon after switching to Linux ... just to make the process all that more challanging :D
