Why i use windows XP
« on: 27 July 2003, 08:36 »
A game I play  Anarchy Online  has no  support in Linux  even with WINE.  or equivalents.  So... as long as I'm playing AO, I'm stuck with Windows.

Does  Linux support SWG and if not is it planned on?

You might have gotten a better response had you asked your question in the "UNIX and GNU/Linux stuff" under "Other Operating Systems"

Emiko , just another excuse to keep using windows, linux could have the same game support as windows, if the game programmer quit being lazy and make it work on linux.
huh, what?

Well, I for one use XP because I am forced to by my college...those who use other operating systems are denied access to the LAN.

Also, I am a no-talent ass clown who likes to use FrontPage to make websites.

as for the university, I think the students should do something about that. you own your computer, not them. If you want to use it, you should. punish them.

at my university I was told that Macs weren't allowed on the network, so I made OS 9 and X work anyway by simply lying to them. lying to assmasters is fun.

as for no talent, I'd say putting up with FuckPage is a talent in of itself.
Go the fuck ~

First of all, FUCK MICROSOFT!
Second, what fucking piece of shit that calls itself a university and forces its students to use the worst modern OS do you go to????

Have a look at mozilla composer too.  I've used both composer and frontpage and I like composer, but hey your choice.  Both work on Windows btw, and so long as its not frontpage its good.

This is (wait for it) PRETTY FUCKED UP RIGHT HERE.  Which college is this btw?  Fucked up assclowns.  A URL to their webpage would be nice too,  I wanna see if they use IIS or are hypocritical and use better software that they deny there students.  And if that college is anything like mine there will be a *lot* of shit on the network that the admins dont know about.  Like my colleges open nap server (over a Terabyte of crap and counting!)

Actually that was set up by the admins.
Damn.  :(

About this college thing... how is that possible? I mean, do they just say "you can't connect to the lan," (If so... I think a solution to that has already been offered ["at my university I was told that Macs weren't allowed on the network, so I made OS 9 and X work anyway by simply lying to them. lying to assmasters is fun."]  ;)  ) or is it somehow physically enforced? (and if so, how?!)

XP is good for keeping coffee stains off of the table.
Linux could do that as well, but chooses not to.
